Introduction
Reggia Rosetta is a 19th-century historic palace, which has undergone a complete restoration aimed at preserving and enhancing its original identity. Over time, the building hosted various activities, including a historic blacksmith’s workshop, located directly within the palace.
The presence of the workshop was closely connected to the context of Borghetto, where the Mincio River, flowing through the village, powered the water wheels that supplied energy to local artisanal activities. A natural and authentic connection between place, water, and ironwork, making this history particularly meaningful.
DESIGN
This is a classical wrought iron balustrade, reinterpreted through light and essential lines. The design intentionally creates a contrast with the historic renovation, defined by a strong and material exposed brick structure.
The white, flowing lines of the balustrade lighten the composition and introduce a sense of freedom and movement, breaking the solidity of the historic fabric without opposing it.

Where material strength meets freedom of form
Detail 1
The distinctive feature of this staircase lies in its irregular elliptical structure, which required a specific construction process, representing a core strength of the company’s expertise. Following a precise on-site survey, a central totem matching the exact geometry of the staircase was built in the workshop.
The wrought iron balustrade was then constructed around this reference structure, allowing full control over proportions and curves. This working method, also applied to international projects, makes it possible to bring the client’s staircase into the workshop, ensuring precision, craftsmanship quality, and reduced on-site complexity.

Lighting should evolve with us, responding intuitively to our environment.
Detail 2
The artistic perception of this work derives from the overlapping of multiple iron lines, arranged to create a clearly legible three-dimensional thickness. The visual strength does not come from mass, but from the controlled layering of light elements, generating depth and rhythm.
This approach allows the use of slender materials while still achieving significant structural strength. The result is a balance between visual lightness and structural solidity, where technical execution becomes an essential part of the design expression.
Finishes
The selected finish is a powder coating, applied with an “orange peel” texture. This choice was made to allow the client, while ascending the staircase, to experience the material through touch, maintaining a direct and authentic tactile connection.
The powder coating forms a protective layer that enhances the surface, making it refined and complete without appearing artificial or plastic-like. The result is a finish that remains close to the essential nature of iron, emphasizing its material character and physical presence.
Conclusion
A fully successful project, able to enhance the space, integrate the identity symbol of Reggia Rosetta, and bring our passion into the heart of this place, clearly perceived by its guests. An emotion that visitors experience and take with them, born from the uniqueness of the setting and the dialogue between historic architecture and the balustrade introduced within it, as confirmed by the strong visibility and response on social media.
