THE STORY
AGAVE began as a constraint. A staircase had to rise along a wall that could not carry its weight: no anchoring, no load capacity, nothing to lean on. From that limitation came the research — not ornament added to structure, but structure itself reimagined. The load was redirected into wide forged metal bands, folded and folded again until they became both path and support. In the act of folding, the structure gains its third dimension, and the sheet becomes a leaf: the silhouette of the agave — precise, resilient, quietly monumental. The result is a self-supporting staircase that asks nothing of the wall. A sculpture you can climb; architecture that holds itself.
